BACKGROUND

Our Principal, Mr. Madison, is known as a lawyer's lawyer.  After graduating from Hastings College of the Law, Mr. Madison spent the better part of 20 years practicing at one huge national firm and two large California firms. He gained experience and expertise working on several high profile cases with several prominent Los Angeles trial lawyers, including seven years working for Patricia Glaser and five years for N. Denise Taylor, with both of whom he has tried or arbitrated cases. 

Thereafter, Mr. Madison worked for several small boutique firms where he gained first hand experience battling big firms on behalf of the little guy.  Recognizing that clients deserve big firm lawyering even if they cannot afford big firm prices, he started Madison Legal/Consulting leveling the playing field for clients that need big firm experience and expertise at an affordable price.  Mr. Madison  specializes in representing clients that need an attorney for contracting and corporate governance, civil and commercial litigation, labor and employment, personal injury, and crisis legal consulting (usually for other small firms with less experienced lawyers needing guidance and expertise).    

Mr. Madison's 25 years of experience as a lawyer is extensive. He has tried cases, handled multiple arbitrations, mediations and settlements,  written and argued hundreds of motions, taken and defended more than two hundred lay and expert depositions, and supervised associates and staff on cases both big and small. He has drafted successful writs and appeals. He also has negotiated, drafted and interpreted contracts and performed necessary due diligence on several large multi-million dollar business transactions.

Mr. Madison has practiced in both the State and Federal systems. He is known for the quality of his litigation on behalf of Fortune 500, entertainment clients and governmental entities among others. As would be expected, the cases have included claims for breach of contract, fraud, insurance bad faith, major construction defect, and other business torts which have resulted in more than $200 million in verdicts and settlements. Additionally, he also has experience litigating personal injury, medical negligence, products liability, and employment cases for individuals and smaller businesses.  

Mr. Madison has received repeated accolades for the quality of his work, advocacy and representation from both clients and his fellow attorneys who view him as formidable.
